Avocado Math: Best Size Avocado to Buy?

Every time I buy avocados it's impossible to figure out what size avocado presents the best value.
$.99 for a small
$1.19 medium
$1.39 Large
$1.69 X-Large

If I have this problem so do you. Today's the day I solve it:

1. Haas Avocados make up more than 95% of all avocados consumed in the United States.

2. I went to Berkeley Bowl and weighed the small, medium, large and x-large Haas Avocados.

3. 70% of the weight of an avocado is edible.

4. A little number crunching and I came up with a chart that shows, what should be, the corresponding price of different sized avocados.

Small
0.5
0.69
0.79
0.87
1
1.03
1.16
1.18
Medium

1.48

Large

1.69
1.72
X-Large
0.86
1.19
1.36
1.5
1.72
1.78
2
2.04

Green numbers are to make the chart more readable.
For example. The Large row in the second column shows a green number one. If the large avocado is priced at $1, the X-Large should be $1.19, the medium should be $.88, the small should be $.69. If the X-Large is 1.20 you should buy the Large. If it is $1.18 you should buy the X-Large.

Happy Guacamole to you all!

If you have any other lingering fruit problems just ask. I am here to help.
