Colin Kaepernick an American Hero

It is a travesty that Colin Kaepernick’s silent protest for civil rights might prevent him from playing football ever again. Although he may never get another chance to be a leader on the football field, he is the leader of something far more important. He has led the National Football League in a movement that will force America to take the next step in her ongoing struggle for equality.

Kaepernick’s decision to use his fame to give a voice to the poorest and least fortunate Americans has blackballed him from the sport he loves and cost him more money than most his critics would make in 10 lifetimes. (I wonder how many of these butthurt conservative snowflakes stand for the national anthem when no one is watching them)

A decade from now Kaepernick will be in the history books alongside the likes of Tommie Smith and John Carlos. Unfortunately, just like any true leader, he had to risk everything and sacrifice himself so future generations can prosper. He will never benefit from his courageous acts.

If you don't understand football and think that he is not in the NFL because he is not good enough or a distraction, here's a recent ESPN article that will explain everything and hopefully you will understand.

I'll let the Daily Show finish off the rest of my thoughts.....

Food for Thought:

Before 2009 NFL players were in the locker room during the National Anthem. From 2011-2015 the National Guard and Department of Defense gave over $10 million to the NFL for "paid patriotism" aka propaganda. American tax dollars hard at work.

More Food for Thought:
At least $7.75 million (more than 7%) of the $106 million raised for Trump's inaugural committee came from NFL owners and the league, according to public records. This does not including the millions that they donated to his campaign.

More More Food for Thought:
There is still an ongoing debate about the perceived racism in the third verse of the National Anthem.
